Roger Federer made some fun of his arch-rival Rafael Nadal ahead of their exhibition match in South Africa. The Swiss maestro teased the Spaniard about not wanting another player like him on the tour. However, in what context did Federer poked fun at Nadal? Let’s find out.

Federer and South Africa’s Rugby captain Siya Kolisi played a different version of tennis on Thursday. The pair played on a small court where they were volleying the tennis ball in front of a bunch of fans.

Federer joked about not having another Nadal on tour

The South African also posted a video of their game and suggested in the caption that his game was not much like Nadal. However, the 38-year-old joked that he does not want another Nadal on the tour.

“Not quite Nadal but,” Kolisi wrote.

Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal exhibition match

Federer and Nadal will play a charity match for the Roger Federer Foundation in Cape Town on 7th February. The two most decorated players of the sport expect to raise $1 million for the foundation in front of a record-breaking crowd of 50,000.

The pair will also be joined by the co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates and comedian Trevor Noah. Gates and Federer will pair up against Nadal and Noah in the doubles match before the much-awaited singles match between Federer and Nadal. This match will be the sixth match in the now yearly series for the foundation.

The event is to support children’s education in Africa. The Roger Federer Foundation supports early childhood education in Switzerland and six African countries. It has already reached more than a million children in its history.
