Laver Cup 2019: Roger Federer Coaches Rafael Nadal and Follows Him to the Bathroom

Nick Kyrgios and Jack Sock kept the hopes of Team World alive as they teamed up to overcome Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 to earn two crucial points for their team. With this victory, Team World closes out the gap with Team Europe to 7-5 at the end of the second day of the Laver Cup 2019.

At the end of the second set, Roger Federer was seen chasing Rafael Nadal to the washroom with the cameraman following the two all the way to the washroom cubicles in order to film the pair.

Team World wrapped up the first set 6-4 against Nadal and Tsitsipas, however, the latter two fought back to secure the second set 6-3. After the completion of the second set, Rafael Nadal jogged to the washroom during the break with Federer following the Spaniard all the way. The cameraman also chased down the two goliaths of the sport till they went inside the private cubicle.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion ran all the way behind the Mallorcan to probably give some tips to the world No.2 on how to go about the super tiebreaker in the final set of the match.

Earlier, Roger Federer was also seen coaching the 19-time Grand Slam champion during his singles match against Milos Raonic. Nadal came up against stiff resistance from the Canadian star but found help in his teammate Roger Federer.

Federer urged Nadal to come to the net more often when he gets a chance cause he is “so good at the net”. The 38-year-old was also seen advising Nadal when was broken in the second set. The Basel native told him to add more “spin, slice…you know like old days”.

“All the players help each other. Roger and I have a good relationship and we know each other very well after playing so many times against each other,” explained Nadal in an interview.

He further added: “So it’s great to have him telling me things, as well as Bjorn, Thomas or any player really because sometimes things from outside are more clear than from inside. I am happy and lucky to be in such a great team.”
