LeBron James adds emotions to his historic All-Star game. Playing in his 21st season, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar broke the record for the most appearances in the NBA All-Star games. It was previously held by another Lakers legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (19). With only 5 days left for the All-Star games, James opened up about his pride in playing his 20th All-Star game.

He said, “I don’t take it for granted. … The fact that I still get to represent this franchise. … My family name on the back of this jersey is very important to me.”

This statement came in after the Lakers registered their 29th win of the season. They took on the Detroit Pistons at the Crypto.com Arena, LeBron James led to the team with 25 points and 8 rebounds for a comfortable 125-111 win over the Pistons. With only one game left before the All-Star week, King James has a few numbers and stats to consider.

He not only holds the record for most All-Star appearances but also holds the record most points scored in All-Star games. Before heading to Indianapolis for the All-Star clash against Giannis Antetokounmpo & Co, the Lakers will face the Jazz at Delta Center. 

In his 19 appearances, James has won 10 games and would look to get the number higher in this season, as the West has a new addition to the starting line-up. OKC Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander replaced the Stephen Curry in the West line-up. And Steph has an unusual role of coming off the bench. Notably, Bron indeed a 4x NBA Champion coming off the bench for him.

LeBron James reflects on missing All-Star in rookie season

During a post-game interview of a game which was fresh after the announcement of All-Star starting line-up. The interviewer congratulated James on his 20th appearance, but also at the same time, asked about the superstar’s feelings about missing it in the rookie season.

The superstar said, “It made me stronger, going into year two… I needed to put in some more work. I was blessed to not make it in my first year because it definitely put me in a position where I needed to go harder.” He added that he was blessed to not make the first year, so that he can come back stronger the next year.
