Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain and Dirk Nowitzki. This is how the elite 30k club looks like after the induction of its newest member – Dirk Nowitzki!
1X NBA Champion, 1X NBA Finals MVP, 1X NBA MVP. These are only some of Dirk’s achievements apart from scoring 30000 points in his 19 season in the NBA.
Today, Dirk came to the American Airlines Centre 20 points short of 30000 points and by the end of the first quarter he scored 18 of them before finally scoring those last two points to seal his stature as an all time great in the NBA, that too on his signature one-legged fadeaway right in Larry Nance’s face.

Dirk Nowitzki has played a vital role in the evolution of the NBA. The type of offence we see today – defense all spread out, 7 footers shooting 3s can largely be credited to Dirk Nowitzki. With Karl-Anthony Towns and Kristaps Porzingis shooting the occasional 3 ball and Kevin Durant shooting the much famed one-legged fadeaway jumper, we see Dirk’s contribution to the game of basketball and in the formation of the modern NBA in every basketball game played.
The Basketball Hall of Fame awaits Dirk Nowitzki.
