Surprising everyone, he went into the 2nd run with ease. Nailing his signature Double Mctwist, White qualified for the Halfpipe snowboarding finals. Deservingly so, he earned praise from all around for his breathtaking run.

White was overjoyed with his performance as he took to his Instagram to share the experience. Several athletes and celebrities also congratulated the 5 time Olympian for making it to the finals, claiming how proud they were of him.

Shaun White ready to nail the finals

On February 9th, White qualified for the finals of the snowboarding halfpipe at Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. He did so in a dramatic fashion, crashing in his first run, then snowboarding to glory in his second run.

Following his triumph, the 35-year-old has now revealed that he felt the pressure after the crash during his first run. But come what may, he needed to ace his 2nd run to make it to the top.

“Wow! So happy to make it through into finals!! This being the last Olympic qualifying event of my career, I definitely felt the pressure,” wrote White.

Shaun pumped up and got the gear going. With a score of 86.25, he claimed the 4th spot and made it into the finals.

“So pumped I pulled that last run off. See you in finals,” he said.

White’s girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, also congratulated her boyfriend for his successful stint. In addition, several other athletes and celebrities also sent him their best wishes.

White’s Instagram post was flooded with comments almost instantly. The 5-time Olympian was showered with love, blessings, and well wishes all around.

Hollywood actor and Nina Dobrev’s close friend, Paul Weasely, called Shaun a “legend”. Dobrev also commented, saying, “YA YOU DID!!!!”

Nyjah Houston, one of the world’s best skateboarders, also congratulated Shaun. “God damn still in the finals! Love to see it, man, ????,” wrote Nyjah.?
