Ben Askren has come out and requested the UFC to allow Glover Teixeira to fight at his upcoming bout as he is asymptomatic.

Recently, news broke out that Glover Teixeira has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of his upcoming main event clash at UFC Vegas 10. Hence, he has been pulled from the fight and the main event has been scrapped. The UFC is now looking for a replacement.

Teixeira was scheduled to take on Thiago Santos in a five-round main event duel at UFC Vegas 10. There was a lot riding on this fight. The winner was expected to climb up the ranks of the light heavyweight division and probably even contest for the belt in the future.

Given their respective positions, the fans expected the winner of this main event fight to challenge for the light heavyweight throne after UFC 253. The co-main event at UFC 253 is a fight for the vacant light heavyweight title between Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz.

But now that Teixeira has tested positive, the UFC is left without a main event and are planning to push this fight to October 3. As of now, there aren’t any official announcements.
