In response to the tragic news, the MLB elected to cancel Monday night’s game out of respect. Tyler Skaggs was just peaking in his MLB career, having debuted at age of 20 with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The starting pitcher was roped in fresh out of high school by the Angels in 2009. His last game for the team was on Saturday, according to the MLB.
