Former World No. 1 Serena Williams has proved to be one of the greatest players in the modern era. Her performances have raised the bar for tennis players. Serena has enjoyed rivalries with many greats of the game. Much to her advantage, the American has come out on top in these matchups.

With the years gone by, Williams has gone through the various stages of life, right from beginning her career as a teenager when she won her first Grand Slam at the US Open in 1999. She was a young 17-year-old at that time. Fast forward 18 years from that moment in 1999 and Serena won her latest Grand Slam at the Australian Open 2017.

During her entire career, Williams has adapted to the various changes in the game. To date, there are very few players who can match up to the raw power she delivers in her shot-making.

Although it’s been close to four years since she last won a major, one cannot rule the great American out when it comes to competing at the majors. Especially when she’s one Grand Slam away from equalling another great of the yesteryears, Margaret Court and her 24 Grand Slams.
