Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas is currently the fastest rising star in the world. However, throughout all his success, there has been one constant. We are talking about his father – Apostolos Tsitsipas.

Apostolos is not just his father, but also his coach. In fact, you can always see his animated figure on the sidelines and Stefanos decimates his opponents.

Notably, Apostolos has been coaching his son since a very young age. In fact, he has been the major pillar behind his success.

In an interview with Tennis TV, Apostolos revealed what keeps the father-son duo going.

What did the father of Stefanos Tsitsipas say? 

This is what Apostolos had to say about what love means for him and Stefanos –

“Love doesn’t mean that we always have to go through success, titles and money. You know, these things are coming and going. Love is supposed to be something a little different. Maybe a bit more like, ‘I love you’. I like to be with you, to see you competing and enjoying the sport. Maybe this is the secret behind it.”

The most popular incident involving Tsitsipas and his father occurred recently at the ATP Cup. In a match against Nick Kyrgios, Tsitsipas got vivid with anger after losing a point. As he hit the bench in anger, he accidentally hit his father who writhed in pain. However, Stefanos went on to apologize to his father after the match.

Anyways, his performance post has been hit and miss. While he was ousted in the third round of the Australian Open, he redeemed himself by winning the Open 13 in Marseille.
