The Solheim Cup 2021 began on September 4 and concluded on September 6. There were three days of exhilarating action between Team USA and Team Europe. In the end, Europe went on to retain the Solheim Cup, thanks to a fantastic performance from the squad. However, one player stood out from the pack as she went undefeated throughout the tournament – the only one to do so.

What’s more surprising is that she was a Solheim Cup debutant! Yes, that’s right. We’re talking about Leona Maguire, who came to Inverness Club and took matters into her own hands. Imagine going undefeated on your Solheim Cup debut – one of the grandest events in women’s golf.

Team Europe captain Catriona Matthew put her faith in 26-year-old Maguire and selected her on the team. In return, Leona Maguire did more than what anyone could’ve asked for. Even Solheim Cup veterans like Anna Nordqvist ended up losing a match, but Maguire didn’t.
