Social media is becoming an essential component of the sports environment. Unfortunately, this surge in online access has also resulted in a worrisome spike in the number of false accounts being created, many of which target LPGA players. These fake accounts imitate the personas of professional golfers, tricking gullible fans and confusing the online community.

In light of this, LPGA player Hannah Green, has taken a courageous stance against the Tour’s mounting problem with phony accounts. She has made the decision to use her position and speak out against this dishonest practice since she recognizes the wider repercussions.
Hannah Green used her Instagram account to generate awareness against the fake accounts. She posted a screenshot on her Instagram story, captioned: “Defs, not my PA please don’t engage and report. ”
In that Instagram story of Green, a dummy account can be seen introducing herself as Hannah Green’s personal assistant in her message to a fan. The imposter profile wrote, “Hello I’m Mary, personal assistant to Hannah Green, As I’m scrolling her page viewing likes and comments, I can see you’re a fan that she would like to talk to on her private chat…”
Green’s commitment to solving the situation was clear. It brings attention to the growing issue that her fellow LPGA players are dealing with.

Hannah Green’s First LPGA Tour Win
Golfer Hannah Green from Australia, has added to her country’s amazing run of success on the world stage by winning the JM Eagle LA Championship in California, which had a prize pool of US$3 million (A$4.5 million).
Green played with poise the entire way. She shot a final-round 69 to join Aditi Ashok of India and Lin Xiyu of China in a sudden-death match. Ultimately, on the second extra hole, Green won her first LPGA Tour match in more than three years. She displayed her talent by making a spectacular 25-foot birdie putt on the last hole to advance to the playoff.
