If someone tells you that comebacks aren’t real, ignore them. There are plenty of living inspirations who keep proving that hardwork can help you experience miraculous moments. Here’s a prime example of it: 50-year-old Annika Sorenstam just won the U.S. Senior Women’s Open in golf, 13 years after stepping away from the sport. 

This achievement holds massive gravity. Sorenstam is regarded as one of the most successful female golfers in history. Her accolades speak for themselves, and the Swedish golfer recently competed at the U.S. Senior Women’s Open at Brooklawn Country Club, in Fairfield, Connecticut. 

To give you some context, Annika Sorenstam retired from professional golf in 2008. She called the curtain on her career after having won 10 major championships and more than 80 professional wins. 

Never did anyone think that Sorenstam would win a tournament again, but she did. She came back from a 13-year retirement to win the U.S. Senior Women’s Open 2021!

Family plays a special part in everyone’s life. For Annika Sorenstam, her family was the primary reason behind pushing her to compete in the U.S. Senior Women’s Open 2021. Before taking the decision to return, Sorenstam posed the question to her husband and kids and they were incredibly supportive of her desire. 

“When I turned 50, we had a discussion. I said, ‘Do you want to see Mama play?’ And they said, ‘Yeah, we want to see Mama play,'” Sorenstam mentioned.
