The 2021 LPGA Tour season ended recently. South Korean golfer Jin Young Ko won the LPGA Player of the year after having a close contest with Nelly Korda. She equally deserved to win this award, but sadly she fell short by just a few points. Meanwhile, Jin Young Ko secured 211 points with five wins.

However, Nelly Korda had even lost her top spot in world rankings for a while. But she took it back after winning the Pelican Women’s Championship. She registered four victories and fell just 14 points short of Ko. Moreover, when it comes to other stats like scoring average, it will be interesting to see who has an upper hand.

Lowest scoring average of 2021 on the LPGA Tour

LPGA Tour is equally competitive as PGA Tour. But since there isn’t much attention from the media and broadcasters, the LPGA Tour doesn’t get much attention. However, things have been changing as 2021 seemed to be an incredible season for women’s golf, and 2022 promises to take women’s golf to greater heights.

When it comes to competitiveness or rivalry, LPGA Tour has Jin Young Ko, Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko, Jessica Korda, and others. And among all these, 2021 was memorable for Jin Young Ko and Nelly Korda. Both golfers had an incredible season and are also the top two lowest scorers of the 2021 LPGA Tour season.

According to KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, Nelly Korda tops the list with a 68.77 scoring average. She leads the field in this department, but not by a massive margin. The South Korean Jin Young Ko is right behind her with a 68.87 scoring average.

Furthermore, there are players like Lydia Ko with 69.33, Yuika Saso with 69.36. Moreover, at fifth place Inbee Park with 69.53, and at sixth place, there is Lexi Thompson with a 69.63 scoring average for the season.

Hence, Nelly Korda and Jin Young Ko were the most dominant performers of the season. Apart from wins, there isn’t much to split between the two golfers. Moreover, they will be hopeful of continuing this form in the next season as create new records.
