Michael Schumacher has been in a medically induced coma for nearly 5 years now following his ski accident in the Alpes in 2013. He sustained heavy head injuries in his accident. Reports and messages have been very scarce especially since his family has asked repeatedly from the media and Schumacher’s fans to maintain their privacy.

Luca Badoer who spent a good number of years as a Ferrari reserve driver said that he is a regular visitor to Michael Schumacher.

“I regularly visit him,” the Italian told Diariodelweb.it this week.

“But the family wants to keep a sort of secrecy around him, and I fully respect their will.

“They do everything for the good of Michael,” he added.

He spoke of Schumacher’s wife wanting to keep the treatment and recovery a secret.

Michael Schumacher is currently being treated in his home, where the rumors pointing to a medical bill which has surpassed 20m Euros. Last anyone heard from the Schumacher family was a few months back, when Schumacher’s manager thanked the fans for their support. 

“What can be said is that the family really appreciates the empathy of the fans,” she said.

“The people really do see and understand (his health situation) is not to be shared in the public eye.”

Michael Schumacher still stands as the most successful F1 driver with 7 championship victories and 91 wins. In the 308 entries, he’s managed a staggering 155 podiums and 68 pole positions.

The entire F1 paddock and his thousands of fans desperately seek for any news on Schumacher considering how much the family has decided to keep it a secret. Here’s hoping that he recovers in time and comes to live a normal life, something all his fans want for the legend.
