Madden NFL 21 Upgrade For PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Brings Surprises A Day Early

EA Tiburon’s Madden NFL 21 had a controversial release earlier this year. Nevertheless, it went on to become the third best-selling game in the USA, two months after launch. While most critics gave it average reviews, the public reception was mostly negative.
Others hold the view that despite the technical issues and bugs, the game is fun to play. The game definitely needed major upgrades to lift its reputation, and that is what EA announced today. The new-gen console upgrade for Madden NFL 21 is now live.
The update is coming a day earlier than was previously announced, similar to Fifa 21. EA Games fans across EU and the USA can now be happy with their own version of new-gen ‘football’.

EA promises the new-gen upgrade will change the dynamics for the players of Madden NFL 21.
“New innovations unlocked by the power of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, like blazing fast load times, deferred lighting and rendering, enhanced animation technology, spatialized audio, and more will take football from visual to visceral, enabling you to Feel Next Level every time you step onto the field.”
Apart from the technical upgrades and visual boost, there are more reasons to be happy. Players who have purchased the game on PS4 and Xbox One can download the upgraded version on the respective new-gen models today instead of December 4.
There seems to be some underlying server problem with the PS5 version currently, and it should be fixed soon. However, players can play the offline mode for the time being and enjoy the haptic feedback from the DualSense that Xbox players can only imagine.

EA answered a few FAQs where they addressed the different modes to upgrade the game. Players who bought the physical copy for the previous generation consoles get dual entitlement that allows them to directly download and play on the next-gen consoles.

The upgrade for the disc-less version is a bit different.
“If you buy a physical copy of Madden NFL 21 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and upgrade to a discless PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S, you will need to contact EA support at help.ea.com to validate your purchase using your account information to receive your free upgrade.”
