Madden NFL 22 digital cover featuring Bo Jackson and his iconic ad campaign
On Wednesday, EA Sports released the news of a new holiday season cover for its popular sports video game. The new digital cover features former Oakland Raiders legend Bo Jackson, who amassed over 2700 yards and 16 touchdowns during his four year stint with the team. Jackson had already made a name for himself as a multi-sport athlete. However, a hip-injury during the 1991 NFL season put his football career to a stop.
Before he joined the NFL, Bo Jackson had already found stardom in the MLB. While playing Outfielder for the Kansas City Royals, he had earned All-Star honors in 1989. He also had one 30 HR season that same year, along with multiple 20 HR seasons during his five year stint with the Royals. During his four year stretch with the Raiders and the Royals, Bo Jackson attracted everyone from the sporting world, thanks to his now iconic Nike campaign, which also features in the new digital cover.

The return of Bo Knows
The special digital cover pays homage to one of the greatest American sporting icons. Along with that, it also pays tribute to his iconic 90s Nike ad campaign, “Bo Knows”. With Jackson setting the sporting world on fire in both football and baseball, Nike signed him and created the popular ad campaign, which showed him taking on other sports. This includes tennis, basketball, cycling, hockey and many more. The campaign promoted the Nike Air Trainer 1, a one of a kind cross-training shoe, which debuted in 1987.
