The qualifying rounds and the opening rounds of the Madrid Open 2019 have already started. Roger Federer is the talking point in the 2019 edition of the Madrid Open. The Swiss Maestro is returning to the clay court after 3 long years at the ATP Masters tournament in Madrid.

While there are new entries in the draw with the coming of Roger Federer, there are many who could not compete in the tournament. The Frenchman, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga became the latest player to pull out from the Madrid Open 2019 after 10 consecutive appearances in the event.

The South African player is currently suffering from what is known as tennis elbow. The world no. 6 withdrew from the Monte-Carlo Masters, last month due to an injury on the right elbow.

Jo Wilfried Tsonga pulled out of the Madrid Open and Rome Masters due to a knee injury. The Frenchman injured his knee during his semi-final match in Montpellier.
