Magnus Carlsen wouldn’t have dreamed about such a sight, even in the nightmares. Bullet chess is all about speed and accuracy, but what is most common in this format are blunders. Even at the Grand Master level, you can’t escape from it, as it is all about playing your best moves in just one minute.

The world champion lost to an online gamer and ripped his shirt in anger. Playing with the black pieces, Magnus started with the Caro-kann defense, exchanged his king side knight, and pre-moved the castling. By the time he realized it was a blunder, he was mated on move 8 by his opponent player named ‘drop stone’.

It was a frustrating moment for the Norwegian Grand Master and he felt like tearing his shirt into two pieces, but in the end, he and his teammate were all laughing at what had just happened.

Online bullet chess is fast and nasty. It requires quick calculation and prior anticipation of your opponent’s move. If you don’t pre-move, you might lose on time and if you do, you might make a blunder, so it’s not that simple even for someone like Magnus Carlsen. Though, it’s always entertaining to watch him play bullet chess as his reactions get funnier and funnier and his banters get nastier.

Who is The Richest Chess Player in The World? NOT Magnus Carlsen

Bullet chess is more about fun and many Grand Masters and International Masters live stream their games on Twitch and YouTube, including Carlsen. He was on a winning streak before the match and ‘drop_stone’ broke his streak. So a little playful anger was justifiable.
