Just when Toronto Raptors were establishing themselves among the top teams in the Eastern Conference, they have been hit with major injury concerns. Pascal Siakam, Marc Gasol and Norman Powell are now reported to be injured.

It is reported that Gasol is dealing with a left hamstring injury and Powell has some concerns in his left shoulder. Siakam, on Tuesday, suffered a groin injury. The trio have been ruled out indefinitely.

All the three players have been influential in the Raptors success so far in the season. Siakam has stepped up and filled in for the loss of Kawhi Leonard. He has averaged 25 points per game and is the leading scorer for the Raptors. Continuing his good form into the deep end of the season might make him a candidate for the NBA Most Improved Player with a prospect of winning it for the second time in a row.

Another worry for them would be Marc Gasol. At the age of 34, Gasol might be nearing his end of his career, but his importance in the team still remains. His offensive performances might be on the decline, but his defensive presence on the floor has been invaluable to the team. The Raptors have allowed only 99.2 points per 100 possessions when Gasol is playing.

Powell also is proving to be important for the team with good improvements in his game. His shooting percentages have been on the rise and he has been an impactful substitute for the Raptors.

Toronto are currently placed fourth in the Eastern Conference with 19 wins in 27 games. They will be hosting Washington Wizards on Friday before welcoming Dallas Mavericks to Toronto. They have won four of their last five games. With the injury timeline of his key players yet unknown, coach Nick Nurse will have some thinking to do.
