Man City v Arsenal Review

January 19, 2015 11:07 am

Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud scored on either side of half-time to earn Arsenal all three points at a ground where they hadn’t won in the league since 2010.

Manchester City started brightly, and had the Gunners on the ropes from minute one, but couldn’t deliver in the final third.

Arsenal made them pay after eventually settling in the game, and found an opening when awarded a penalty for a foul on Nacho Monreal by City defender Vincent Kompany.

Santi Cazorla made no mistake from 12 yards to put Arsenal ahead. The Londoners held on until the break.

City pushed for an equaliser in the second-half, and Arsenal came close to crumbling, but they eventually got organised again and kept the Sky Blues at bay.

But the visitors sealed the win, with Olivier Giroud heading home from a free-kick to double Arsenal’s lead.

FT at Etihad

It’s Manchester city 0-2 Arsenal
