Greenwood has “begrudgingly” accepted the stance of United after the news of the internal investigation. It buys more time for United to think about whether bring back Greenwood to the squad or end his contract mutually. It will be a tough decision for the club to make with the stakes high.

The statement read, “Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining the next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete.”
