Marcus Rashford committed his long-term future to Manchester United as he agreed a four-year contract extension with the club. The 21-year old forward has already made 170 appearances for the Red Devils scoring 45 goals.
Rashford’s previous contract was due to expire in the summer of 2020, with the Englishman attracting major interest from European heavyweights Barcelona among others. Manchester United have therefore handed their talented striker a mega £250,000-a-week contract to ensure that he remains at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford broke into Manchester United’s senior team at the tender age of 18, and quickly announced himself on the big stage as he scored a brace against Arsenal on his Premier League debut, only three days after scoring twice versus Midtjylland on his first European start.
The boyhood Manchester United fan expressed his love for the club after he confirmed his stay till 2023.

“Manchester United has been everything in my life since I arrived here at the age of seven. This club has shaped me, both as a player and as a person, so it is such a privilege every time I get the opportunity to wear the shirt,” he told the club’s website.
Rashford reportedly had a rocky relationship with former boss Jose Mourinho, who would often deploy the forward on the wings. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, plays Rashford at centre-forward which is his most preferred position.
“I want to thank Ole and his staff for everything they have done for me; they are the perfect group of coaches to learn from as I continue my development and look to push on to the next level,” he added. “I will be giving everything I have to help get this club back to where it belongs and deliver the success that our fans deserve.”
Marcus Rashford will certainly have to live upto the fans’ increased expectations next season as Manchester United look to become their dominant self once again.
