Maria Sharapova’s Engagement Ring Costs Exorbitant $400k

Former World No.1 Maria Sharapova retired from tennis in 2020. And by the end of 2020, she announced her engagement to British businessman Alexander Gilkes, whom she had been dating since 2018. And now it is reported that her engagement ring costs close to half a million dollars.

As reported, the true price of the engagement ring is 300,000 GBP or $400,000. It is a custom made emerald-cut diamond ring.

It is designed by Jessica McCormack and features 18k rose gold and oxidized silver with a central emerald-cut diamond.

Maria Sharapova flaunts her engagement ring

Sharapova announced her engagement on December 17th, 2020. She posted a photo on her Instagram. Her caption read: “I said yes from the first day we met. This was our little secret, wasn’t it @gilkesa.”

In the new year’s post, Maria Sharapova showed off her engagement ring. And she thanked her fiancee for making 2020 delightful.

“2020, I imagined you to be very different. As we all did! Admittedly, you sprinkled some brilliance in midst of harsh and heartbreaking realities. Personally, you gave me the courage to let go of the one life and career I ever knew. I pinch myself daily for the timing of that decision. And you gave me the gift and commitment of a lifetime.”

Sharapova’s fiancee Alexander Gilkes is a millionaire. His reported net worth is $20 million. And he shares close ties with a few members of the British Royal Family.

Further, Sharapova’s own net worth is around $195 million. She was the face of women’s tennis when she was playing. Thus along with prize money she raked a lot of endorsement deals as well. Further, she even launched her own candy brand named Sugarpova that has become famous for having quirky names.

For now, Sharapova’s wedding is rumored to be scheduled later in the year. It is expected to feature a lot of high-profile guests.
