It is true! The Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova is reportedly dating a British businessman, Alexander Gilkes. The couple is already two years into the relationship and are often seen wandering the streets of Los Angeles.

With this, former World No. 1 Sharapova has also acquired a connection to the Royal Family. As suggested, Gilkes is known to be in close touch with Prince William and Prince Harry of England. Also, Gilkes’s ex-wife Misha Nonoo is close to Meghan Markle. Sources suggest that Prince William and Prince Harry shared the same school as Alexander.

Since turning pro in 2001, Sharapova has made it in the “100 Greatest of All Time” list by Tennis Channel, as well as the highest-paid female athlete for straight eleven years.

An unforeseen turn arrived in the Russian’s glorifying career when she failed a drug test back in 2016. Notably, she confirmed that it was used under the guidance of a doctor and her suspension was reduced from 2 years to 15 months.

Britain-born Alexander Gilkes is an acclaimed businessman and a board member of the New York Academy of Art. Recently, he co-founded a company called Squared Circles. However, his major success came from his previous company Paddle8 (also confounded) which reportedly made $140m in sales.

Before the former Russian tennis player came into his life, Gilkes was married to a British-Bahraini fashion designer Misha Nonoo (2012-2016). However, Sharapova and Gilkes seem to hit it well together.
