World TeamTennis will be featuring the best American tennis players and Maria Sharapova is also scheduled to play their event in Carlsbad, California. The soon-to-be-announced celebrities from tennis and entertainment industries will play the “WTT Celebrity All-Star Match”—a pro-am tennis event. It will be played in WTT’s match format from February 29 to March 1, 2020, at Omni La Costa Resort.

The legendary doubles team on the ATP Tour Bob and Mike Bryan will participate in the event. Followed by Sam Querrey, Taylor Fritz, CoCo Vandeweghe, Madison Keys, Ryan Harrison, and Taylor Townsend will be there.

five-time Grand Slam champion, Maria Sharapova has played eight World TeamTennis seasons so far. She has won WTT titles with the Newport Beach Breakers in 2004 and the Orange County Breakers in 2017.

“Playing in San Diego for the Aviators is something that I make sure is on my calendar every summer,” CoCo Vandeweghe said. “The March 1 match should be awesome for the players and the fans. It’s always a major plus to be able to sleep in my own bed as well in San Diego.”

The first team consists of Bob Bryan, Mike Bryan­, Taylor Fritz, Madison Keys, Taylor Townsend. The second team comprises of Ryan Harrison, Sam Querrey, Maria Sharapova, and CoCo Vandeweghe.

“Our WTT Celebrity All-Star Match, featuring many of the best Americans in tennis and popular WTT stars, will extend our positive momentum from the 2019 season into what will be an even bigger year for WTT in 2020,” WTT CEO Carlos Silva said.

The prize money for the 45th season of WTT has been increased to US $5,000,000. The players will be earning US $1,000,000 in WTT Playoffs compensation and to the team that hoists the King Trophy will receive US $500,000. The 45th season of WTT will held from July 12 to 29, 2020.
