Marin Cilic enters the Fiver-Tree Championships 2019 at Queen’s Club in London as the defending champion. The Croatian announced a new addition to his team ahead of the grass court season. Marin Cilic revealed that the former South African tennis player, Wayne Ferreira will join his team for the grass court tennis.

Marin Cilic wrote on Twitter, “I am happy to share with you all that Wayne Ferreira will be joining my team for the grass season. Looking forward to working together.”

Wayne Ferreira, the former South African Tennis player who won 15 titles in his career with one silver medal at the Barcelona Olympics 1992. However, he has not won a single grand slam title in his career with his best grand slam performance coming at the Australian Open, where he reached the semifinals twice in 1992 and 2003.

Before joining Marin Cilic, Wayne Ferreira supervised Lloyd Harris at the Delray Beach Open, earlier this year. Marin Cilic will start his defence of the Queen’s Club Championships against rising Chilean star Christian Garin.

Earlier, Marin Cilic expressed his happiness about Andy Murray coming back to play tennis. The Croatian praised the Brit who is returning back to professional tennis after undergoing hip surgery, earlier this year.

“He’s doing incredibly well. I was talking a little bit with him at the Australian Open, and wishing him all the best for his recovery, and hoping to see him back as quick as possible. And he’s been an incredible figure for our sport for so many years, especially here in England,” Marin Cilic said of Andy Murray.

He continued, “It’s incredible to see him back. I’m just hoping his recovery is going to go even better and better and that he’s going to be feeling really well. Hopefully, he will also continue to play at a high level.”
