Apex Legends revolutionized the perception of battle royale games after its launch in February 2019. At the time, the idea of resurrecting fallen teammate(s) was unknown in the BR genre. Respawn successfully implemented a concept in-game, which then allowed players to come back to life from the dead.

Now, Respawn seems to be planning on another venture by massively restructuring the in-game armors. Prominent Apex Legends data miner, iLootGames revealed details of a forthcoming LTM (Limited Time Mode), which will incorporate changes to different shields in the game.

Well-known data miner in the Apex Legends community, iLootGames, uploaded a video on his official YouTube channel where he explains the upcoming unique LTM. It will arrive on Friday, April 24, on World’s Edge.

The LTM will consist of four phases. In this mode, players will be spawning in with loot (armor & pistol) even before they hit the ground.

Version 1 of the LTM goes live on April 24, and players will spawn with level 1 armor. Version 2 initiates on April 27, where players will spawn with level 2 armor, and version 3 will start on April 29 with level 3 armor. On May 1, the final version of the LTM will commence where players will spawn with Evo (evolving) shield. The final stage will be the longest and will span four days.

As a result of this LTM, shields will be unavailable on the map.

The concept behind the event is that players spawn with progressively stabler armor as the event progresses into its later stages. In addition to the shields, players will also spawn with a pistol.

Games like CS: GO has achieved colossal success in the competitive scene because players can pre-buy loadouts according to their needs. Many players, especially the professional players, have criticized that the RNG in battle royales is what keeps the games from reaching the sort of competitive level like CS: GO.

This new Apex Legends LTM might come useful to the cause as it will reduce the chances of players succumbing to the randomness after landing. Moreover, by changing the process of how players gather armors, Respawn can make the battlefield more even. Whether the developers will make these changes permanent in the future remains to be seen.
