It’s one thing to win. It’s quite another to claim a podium and stand on any other step outside of the top two. In that regard, Max Verstappen, who’s already won 5 races, got off to a very good start this season by grabbing a P3 at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix.

In so doing, his third-place finish got Red Bull off the mark and earned them 15 valuable points at the season-opener.

One can’t say that this was a lame effort.

After all, someone like Sebastian Vettel had been eclipsed in the fight to the checkered flag.

That said, a third-place finish isn’t really ‘Mad Max!’

Or is it?

For someone who has to his credit such sterling drives such as the back-to-back wins at Mexico, the brilliant maiden win at the Austrian Grand Prix at Spielberg (2018), and that unforgettable master-show under heavy rains at Interlagos, 2016- Max Verstappen is here to stay.

Isn’t that correct?

So one wonders what are his plans right now and what is it that can be said about Verstappen’s imminent plans?

Is Verstappen too cheery about his recent triumph; and therefore, will he be lackadaisical about what lies ahead? Well, make no mistake. This ain’t no ordinary driver. He’s touted for big things. Haven’t we all heard that already?

And in that regard, Max Verstappen is all focus at the moment. He is not letting anything that happened in the past, even if that’s a fantastic podium at Melbourne, break his concentration.

And here’s what he recently shared.

“Starting the season with a podium in Australia is really positive but Melbourne is not a typical circuit, so we can’t get carried away,” he said.

“I don’t think we will really know where we stand until after China.”

One can’t wait for Bahrain- isn’t it? Who knows what might happen. So Max, what have you got for us? You’ll be wary of Red Bull’s lukewarm form at Sakhir- are you?

Who knows, Max may just reverse the fortune for Red Bull. They haven’t had a single podium here in both 2017 and 2018.
