The 2018 F1 season marked the last season for Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull. The Australian, currently thirteenth on the Driver Standings is with Renault. However, back at Red Bull, it’s an out and out Max Verstappen show. Apart from the fastest lap at the 2019 Chinese Grand Prix, round three of the new season, Max Verstappen’s teammate Pierre Gasly is hanging in there, doing his bit for his new outfit while the Dutchman is dominating.

So far, having finished every single race in points, albeit driving what is largely known to be not the best Red Bull machine, Max Verstappen is going strong- is he not?

With a strong third at the season-opening race at Australia, followed by a hat-trick of fourth-place finishes at Bahrain, China, and Azerbaijan, “Mad Max” as he’s called is third on the current rakings. This means, he’s even ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, who recently clinched his second podium of the season in as many races.

So what’s there to know about Max Verstappen’s imminent future? Is there a doubt; and if there is, what is his team boss Christian Horner’s view on it?

But before any of that, here’s what one is to know. Verstappen is contracted to Red Bull till the end of 2020. The 2020 season, of course, shall mark the fifth year of the Dutchman with the Milton Keynes-outfit.

To that end, his British boss has shared his absolute confidence maintaining that the 21-year-old driver is not going anywhere as he shared, “Max has got a contract, and it’s very clear what that position is, I’m totally confident he will be here next year.”

In fact, in the measured praise of his Dutch talent, Christian Horner also shared that Pierre Gasly, (who, according to the Briton delivered a strong weekend) has a strong barometer in Max Verstappen.

It’ll be interesting to see what Max Verstappen can deliver in the upcoming race in Spain. After all, this is the track where the youngster had picked up his first-ever race win when he was just a teenager.
