Most racers are born car and bike aficionados and also have an impressive collection of vehicles. Among the car collectors are Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen and even McLaren CEO, Zak Brown. While owning motorcycles are rare, Hamilton and Vettel do have a few in their garages. Recently, Charles Leclerc also joined the bike club, with a new custom-built bike.

The bike in question is the 701 Serie Apex 2.0 Husqvarna and was  created by French-based custom outfit, Bad Winners. This particular bike have four models, dubbed as Stages and range in exclusivity. Leclerc’s own bike is reportedly worth an eye-popping €20,990.00.

The bike’s features include a custom-built frame and bodywork, which will be swapped out for carbon fibre. The machine also gets a mechanical overhaul in the form of a full system exhaust and decat, Power Commander V, Li-Ion battery, SC-Project end can and gorgeous looking DYMAG carbon fibre wheels.

According to Walid from Bad Winners, to BikeExif, “It started with a simple message on Instagram. A message from Charles Leclerc to the Bad Winners account! At first, I thought it was spam.”

“Charles said, ‘I’ve been following you for a while, and I really like your motorcycles. Would it be possible to make me one?’”

Leclerc even confessed that he was fond of an older bike built by the company but wanted his own to be based on the modern Husqvarna 701.

So, after several hours of CAD and 3D modelling, and creating an entirely new HMI for the machine, the project was complete. Fortunately for customers who have fallen in love with the €20,990.00 machine, the Bad Winners team are open to building a less expensive version with less carbon fibre and more parts carried over from the donor bike. This version is a little easier on the pockets, costing around €14,690.
