Tsitsipas began his journey in Acapulco by registering a comfortable victory over French tennis player Benoit Paire. In his previous match, the Greek athlete had faced a tricky opponent in the 6’11” John Isner. However, Stefanos sailed through smoothly, winning the match in straight sets.

On the other hand, Felix faced American tennis player Tennys Sandgren in his opening round match. After winning the first set comfortably, the Canadian player held his nerve and booked a spot in the next round, after winning a tightly fought tiebreaker. After that, Auger-Aliassime beat wildcard entrant Sebastian Korda in straight sets.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Felix Auger-Aliassime: Head-to-Head

The two players have faced each other previously on four occasions, and have split the contest, winning two matches each. They played at the Indian Wells Masters 2019 for the first time and it was the Canadian who drew first blood. After that, they played on the grass courts at the Queen’s Club in London and the outcome was in Felix’s favor again. However, the previous two matches have been won by Stefanos.

Even though Felix has the ability to generate powerful groundstrokes, it is the Greek athlete who has consistency in his game. Due to that, Stefanos will be the favorite to win their upcoming match. The World No. 5 played a great tournament at the Australian Open this year. However, if Felix serves well, he could put Stefanos under pressure.
