Michael Jordan was the most popular athlete in all of America back in the ’90s. His influence spanned from ads to movies, and rightly so. Jordan had good relations with most celebrities in that era due to his flamboyant nature. One such celeb who was known for flamboyance during that period was another icon, Michael Jackson. The two worked together on the famous Michael Jackson track “Jam” in 1992.

Now Janet Jackson, sister of the pop icon and legend in her own right, revealed a key detail about the legendary shooting. The 5x Grammy winner on Complex channel went Sneaker Shopping with Complex’s Joe La Puma at Stadium Goods in New York City. She spoke about her go-to dancing sneakers, giving away Dior x Air Jordan 1s, and Michael Jackson’s iconic video with Michael Jordan.

Joe La Puma asked Janet about the iconic video and what the family’s reaction was. Janet replied, “I loved it. I mean we never discussed it…” Michael Jackson chose to be silent about the project and decided to not even tell his family until the song was complete. “We had to play one on one, it was so embarrassing,” said the pop star in a BTS video. In the video, Jordan also mimicked the iconic Moonwalk step which Jackson taught him for the music video.

Further said, “But I thought it was so awesome yeah so awesome I loved it yeah it’s listen may he rest in peace brother they’re just both brilliant both of them just so it’s it’s nice that we have that memory hold on to.

According to the video description, the song was shot on location in Chicago, Jordan’s town. Currently, the music video has over 89M views. But how did the Chicago Bulls legend end up on a music video with the King of Pop?

Michael Bivins revealed how the duo met for the first time. The American singer in an interview on Matt Hoffa’s YouTube channel spoke of the best moments of his career. The singer took the viewers back to a moment when Michael Jackson was shooting a music video, alongside “ABC”, at the Sony Lot. At the same time, Jordan was “down the walk, down the joint in the Winnebago.”

Bivins asked Jordan for a favor. ““I’m like ‘Yo yo Mike, I need you to do me a favor’. He was like, he was like, ‘What you need?’ I said ‘Man, you got to come meet ABC.’” It was His Airness’ first meeting with Jackson that led later to the world witnessing The Jam music video.
