Andy Murray, who is currently recovering from a hip injury, revealed that he would be skipping the Roland Garros this year. Murray is taking it slow, and does not want to rush into playing competitive matches without being a 100 percent. Murray is focused on returning to the grass court season, having already entered his name for the tournaments in Hertogenbosch, Queen’s and Wimbledon.

‘We kind of look at different things that worked in the past. I can be a little bit more flexible’ , said Andy Murray. ‘I’ll enjoy it [tennis] more(when i return). I think when you go through an injury like this you realize how much you miss playing, how important it is to you’, he added.

Murray says his day to day life lacks the constant pressure and excitement that professional tennis brings with it, and that it is one of the most important reasons as to why he plays tennis. ‘I like pressure, I miss that, something that you don’t get in day-to-day life, something that I’ve had as part of my life for, well it’s been 13, 14 years since I became a pro. I miss that, I miss the competition.’

Murray also said, “There will always be pressure there, but I’ll definitely make sure I enjoy it more and make sure I don’t get too down with a bad result or a tough loss and not get too high when things are going well. Because you never quite know what’s around the corner. I certainly never anticipated something like this. So I certainly won’t take anything for granted when I come back.”
Murray has not played since January, and is currently ranked outside the top thirty in the ATP singles rankings. The former world number one, is one of the many players who have been on injury related breaks, over the past 12 months.
