In an interview with world-famous comedian Seth Meyers, Jeter joked about one of his golf performances. Celebrities from various professions grace Meyers’ talk show. Therefore, in an episode, there was the legendary Jeter as Meyers’ celebrity guest.?

The comedian host and the sporty guest, with his cutting ‘one-liners’, talked about multiple topics. Meyers intentionally mentioned the Boston Red Sox in hope of receiving some entertaining reply. Jeter didn’t disappoint and proved why he was still a true Yankee. The popular Bronx hero took a hilarious dig at Red Sox fans, accusing them of going soft after their team won the World Series.?

Then the two got to joking about Jeter’s golf play. Meyers pointed out a brief video of Jeter playing a golf shot in Vegas, where the onlookers go berserk in jubilation. When Meyers asked Jeter what the fuss was all about, Jeter began by saying,?“I hadn’t hit a good shot the entire day”.??He added by?saying,?“Actually, it was the best shot I hit all day. When I hit it, I said ‘this has a chance to be a hole-in-one.’ But a couple of members of my group start cheering a little early. But we played it off pretty good.”?

Despite Jeter’s whole-hearted love for the sport, life as a baseball player wasn’t the beginning and end for him. Retired from baseball in 2014, he began to fine-tune his golf skills. Jeter also turned into the CEO and co-owner of the Miami Marlins from 2017 until 2022. He now lives a peaceful family life with his wife and three daughters.
