Aaron Judge is once again proving why he earned the title of AL MVP in 2022. The New York Yankees had a rather disappointing start to the season in 2023, but recent performance may pull them up through the ranks just yet. The current AL East standings have surprised fans, with the Yankees occupying the third place. The Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles currently take up the first two spots. But in their second match-up of the season, the Bronx Bombers just beat the Orioles in style.

One of the main attractions of that game was Aaron Judge, who hit a game-tying home run to lead his team to their fifth straight victory. But before the game happened, the Yankees captain hung out with another sports celebrity, and even gave away his bat!

Aaron Judge hangs out with Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves

NBA’s T-Wolves have a special MLB connection – the team is partly owned by Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez. And one of Minnesota’s NBA stars, Karl-Anthony Towns, AKA KAT, was at the Yankees’ recent game. The 3x All-Star hung out with Judge near the batting cage ahead of the game, and Judge even gave him one of his bats.

Towns has admitted before that he wanted to be a baseball player before being a basketball player. The Yankees were a dream team, so this gift from Judge will always be memorable for him.

The two posed for a picture that the Pinstripes’ official Twitter shared with the caption, “Cap meets KAT.” Celebrities are not uncommon at sports games and Yankee Stadium was certainly witness to some star power yesterday. Interestingly, Judge’s 6’7″ height is something that is noticeable in most pictures because he easily towers over everyone. And it’s rare to see someone dwarf him, but KAT managed to do so with his 7’0″ height!

Baseball fans are loving this MLB-NBA mix

MLB and NBA Twitter alike loved seeing this clash of the two different worlds. While Judge and Anthony Volpe were the stars of Yankees vs Orioles, KAT received some praise too.

Some discussed the rumors of Towns being traded to the Knicks because he’s in New York.

Some pointed out the two players’ respective tall statures and how Judge compared to an NBA player.

Interestingly, Judge played basketball in high school, also as a center!
