“I could not believe it!” said Alex Rodriguez. What’s better than a normal surprise? A surprise that leaves you speechless for quite some time. That’s exactly what happened with the superstar recently. The New York Yankees legend and co-owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves was having a normal day at work. Watching Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, A-Rod didn’t have a clue that his daughters had planned a massive surprise for him.

Rodriguez posted on his Instagram account that he’d be in the building with his daughter Ella. The father-daughter duo entered looking quite trendy and stylish. But while Rodriguez had hoped for a nice quality time with his daughter, Ella had something different in her mind. Just before leaving, she decided to give A-Rod a pleasant surprise by calling her sister Natasha Rodriguez.

So did her surprise work? Well, if one looks at Alex Rodriguez’s post, it surely did. The Timberwolves owner was having a long conversation with Ella when suddenly Natasha popped up in front of him. For a few moments, Rodriguez stood there with his mouth open, his brain failing to comprehend what was happening. Like a proud father, Rodriguez immediately hugged Natasha and just couldn’t believe she was there.

That was perhaps the most heartwarming moment during that entire game. Rodriguez has always been quite close and protective of his daughters. The fact that they decided to surprise their dad shows just how close-knit this family is. That also gave one more reason to the Minnesota fans to connect with A-Rod. After all, who doesn’t love a little family time?

As for the game, it wasn’t what Rodriguez wanted to see. The Timberwolves couldn’t find a way past the Dallas Mavericks and that has led to their hopes flickering fast.

Alex Rodriguez’s surprise couldn’t overshadow the Timberwolves’ loss

Unlike the previous two games the scoreline wasn’t close in this game with the Mavericks defeating T-Wolves 116-107. But for much of the game, the Timberwolves and Mavericks were equal. Case in point, the two ended 3rd quarter with equal points. Still, with the Timberwolves now 3 games behind, one wonders whether this historic run of theirs is coming to an end against the Mavericks.

Still, for a team that was floundering for much of the last two decades, this growth is nothing less than miraculous. That’s been one of the primary reasons why the fans have welcomed Alex Rodriguez so open-heartedly. The superstar’s presence has seen the team’s morale and performances continue to improve. So even if they lose here, there’s hope that they’ll continue with this momentum in the next season too.
