The Arizona Diamondbacks have started the 2023 season on a great note with 7 wins and 4 losses so far. They sit atop the NL West after a shutout 3-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in their latest game. Their pitching staff performed very well, holding the Brewers to only three hits all game. 

But another Diamondbacks star whose name came up in discussions was outfielder Corbin Carroll. But it was not because of his play. Carroll was on the bench for the game and was only a defensive substitute in the ninth inning. The reason his name was brought up is that an NBA superstar attended the game wearing a Diamondbacks jersey with Carroll’s name on it.

Corbin Carroll was stoked as Kevin Durant wore his jersey while watching the Arizona Diamondbacks play

13-time NBA All-Star and Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant recently watched the Arizona Diamondbacks play the Milwaukee Brewers at Chase Field. While watching the game live, he donned a Corbin Carroll jersey, paying homage to the Diamondbacks’ outfielder. During an interview following the game, Carroll addressed the situation and seemed very happy about it. He said that it was very cool for Durant to wear his jersey and come out to support the D-Backs. A Twitter user PHNX Diamondbacks shared a video of the interview.

In the video, Carroll said, “Someone said it in like the third inning, so I gave it a peek.” He then said that “It was pretty cool” considering Durant’s status as an NBA superstar. When asked if it was surreal to see Durant wearing his jersey, Carroll said, “Yeah, absolutely, I mean literally 7-year-old Corbin right? Going and watching him, and him to be there watching us, that was, that was pretty cool.”
