At one point, ‘A-Rod’ made a shocking revelation about his sporting ventures. He acknowledged his strong fondness for basketball. In fact, he loved basketball to the extent that he once quit baseball as a 12-year-old. However, a change of mind under the proper guidance of his mother did bring ‘A-Rod’ back to the diamond.?

Speaking to Durant on the podcast, ‘A-Rod’ said, “I wanted to be an NBA player so bad. When I was 12 years old, I quit baseball. And thank God for my mother. She had two jobs. So she had the wits about her to realize that there’s not too many Dominican players in NBA. Right?”?
