Aaron Judge is the name making the rounds in almost every baseball conversation right now. From fans and reporters to former players, just about anyone is making mention of him every now and then. The manner of dominant form he is showcasing at present makes him truly deserving of all the attention. Recently, Judge made his way into yet another conversation.

Aaron Judge has given glimpses of his extraordinary playing skills since his entry into MLB. He made his debut for the New York Yankees as an outfielder in 2016. Impressing through his hitting prowess and agile defense, he won the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 2017. Now the 4-time All-Star Judge stands as a prime contender for the American League MVP Award this season. 

Judge has been making headlines all throughout the ongoing season. He is presently the American League’s highest home run scorer. Recently, Judge shared a few moments of mutual admiration. He had a text conversation with retired baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr. 

Aaron Judge: An exchange of appreciation with a legendary figure 

Aaron Judge has become a record breaker and record-setter, building a grand legacy to withstand centuries. In surpassing legends like Babe Ruth and Roger Maris, he has already joined the club of the sporting elite. Therefore, he is winning the praise of the experts.

Among them, NBA legend LeBron James’ sporting hero, Ken Griffey Jr. too joined in to congratulate Judge. The 18-time NBA All-Star and four-time finals trophy winner, James, once picked Griffey Jr. as his favorite athlete in an interview

Griffey Jr. is a 13-time All-Star Hall of Famer, who played in MLB for multiple teams. He made his MLB debut for the Seattle Mariners, an association he got mostly remembered for. In between, he also played for the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox, respectively. But he returned to the Mariners in the last phase of his baseball career before retirement. 

Griffey Jr. was recently a guest on ‘The Pivot Podcast’. He discussed various topics in an interview running over an hour. Speaking about Judge at point, Griffey Jr. said, “I actually sent him a note. ‘Congratulations. Keep going.’ And he just text back. ‘Thanks. I’m just trying to be like you.’ But he is an unbelievable guy, a teammate. You know, it’s gonna be weird this offseason to find out if he goes somewhere.”

Griffey Jr. added saying, “So you know, there’s a nice spot in the Northwest. You know, I’m not throwing anything out there. But there’s a nice spot in the Northwest. Probably get you a couple of things, get you a realtor.”  

The hidden message in Ken’s comments 

Judge’s term contract with the Yankees is about to end this season. So, understandably, numerous teams are vying for the marquee player. Thus, Griffey Jr. has expressed his desire to see Judge playing for the Mariners in the future. Therefore, the reference to ‘a nice spot in the Northwest’ got hinted at.
