Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez has finally put the rumors to rest. While the MLB icon has moved into a sports ownership role recently, some sources had him linked with picking up more responsibility with the Miami Marlins too. However, Rodriguez has since put the rumors to rest and clarified that his current owned team, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx, remain front and center in his plans.

Rodriguez seems to make the most of his commercial career. After retiring from the game in 2016, the former World Series Champion has grown into his business. Undertaking several ventures in the real estate business, A-Rod also has some private equity and venture capital business investments. And his sports ownership plans have materialized too. Now a part-owner in an NBA and a WNBA franchise, the rumor mill was rife that A-Rod might dip his toes into MLB with a stake in the Miami Marlins.

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez dispels rumors

Fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves could well have been concerned as the conversation went on. Reportedly, Alex Rodriguez could have potentially been interested as Bruce Sherman and his partners grew unhappy at the numbers the Miami Marlins were putting up. Rodriguez quickly jumped in to issue a clarification, though.

With Ron Berkowitz reporting early, he wrote, “Any report of him having an interest in also buying the Miami Marlins or any other MLB team is entirely false.

With Rodriguez in attendance for nearly every playoff game with the Timberwolves, few would have raised questions. But a clarification on his commitment to the franchise was still forthcoming. Wrote Berkowitz, “Alex Rodriguez is 100 percent focused on owning the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx.”

Rodriguez, too, posted the tweet on his personal Instagram account to account for more legitimacy.
