Derek Jeter is undeniably one of the most talented baseball players ever. His excellence in the ballpark established a prestigious legacy for him. But he is also a man of multiple skills. The $200 million man Jeter once explained his winter job in a hilarious fashion.

Winter in baseball terms refers to the MLB offseason. Which means the players are away from ballpark action. So Jeter admittedly had an extra job to keep his mode of earning alive and running. However, it was all rather a joke and a funny skit for a highly popular comic television show.

Notably, the Yankees legend has made multiple mainstream pop culture appearances throughout his life. In 2001, he appeared in an episode on Saturday Night Live. At one point in the episode, he enacted the character of a taco seller. What’s more, was that Jeter even had a song to narrate his job.

Shortly after the conclusion of the 2001 World Series, Derek Jeter hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live. He has always remained fond of acting and wanted to try his hand at the art. So, Saturday Night Live gave him the platform to fulfill his desire. Hitting the audience with baseball shots, enacting a Yankees player’s wife, and being a taco seller, the former Yankees captain aced it all.

Derek Jeter’s Taco Hole was a comedy sketch presented as a song narrative. Among other celebrity figures singing alongside Jeter were talk show host Jimmy Fallon and actor Will Ferrell. Thus, Jeter also gave glimpses of his singing. Interestingly, Jeter and Ferrell also later acted together in the 2009 film, “The Other Guys.”

A portion of the song went as, “Hi, I’m Derek Jeter. You may know me as the shortstop for the New York Yankees. But I’m also an award-winning chef specializing in Mexican cuisine. So if you like Mexican food, then come on down to Derek Jeter’s taco hole. Chips, salsa, and guacamole! Derek Jeter’s taco hole.”
