The Dodger Stadium is home to the formidable Los Angeles Dodgers and hence, registers high attendance. Situated in the largely populated Hollywood City, the Dodgers’ fans often need to counter traffic jams to reach the games. Even without the rush of the Dodgers’ fans on game days, the local streets like Sunset Boulevard remain jam-packed.

The Dodger Stadium is an MLB-specific stadium built in 1962. It is the third oldest baseball stadium among all, only behind Fenway Park in Boston and Wrigley Field in Chicago. In terms of seating capacity, the Dodger Stadium is the largest baseball stadium in existence. Thus, the ballpark can easily record a historic attendance on a full-house day.

While the eastern terminus was supposed to get located on private property near the Dodger Stadium parking lot. The unique design would have included six major illuminated ventilation shafts. Passengers were to ride on high-end autonomous pod-like electric skates, traveling at the speed of 125-150 miles per hour. Each skate had a capacity of between 8 and 16 passengers. Whereas, the ticket price for passengers was $1 each.

Did the project come to fruition?

Speaking on the planned project back in 2018, the Dodgers’ chief financial officer Tucker Kain said, “We were excited when The Boring Company came to us with this project. Whether it is flying overhead in an aerial transit system or bypassing traffic through an underground tunnel, we are always looking for innovative ways to make it easier for Dodgers fans to get to a game.”
