With the World Baseball Classic set to begin in just a few days, baseball fans are getting hyped. Several top MLB stars are going to represent their home nations at the tournament. One such star was none other than Vladimir Guerrero Jr., first baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays until an uncalled injury came into the scenario. Notably, Guerrero Jr. was all set to represent the Dominican Republic at the Classic tournament.

Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. pulls out of the World Baseball Classic due to an injury

Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. suffered a right knee injury during a recent Spring Training game. Luckily for the Blue Jays, the injury doesn’t seem too serious. But unluckily for baseball fans, he has pulled out of the World Baseball Classic. Guerrero Jr. was going to represent the Dominican Republic at the tournament but will now miss it. Fox Sports: MLB reported the news via Twitter.

In a Tweet, Fox Sports: MLB said, “Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will no longer play in the World Baseball Classic due to his right knee injury. per @longleysunsport.” This is a huge blow for the Dominican Republic at first base.

Fans have reacted to the news with disappointment and shock. They expressed their devastation at Guerrero Jr.’s injury. They were also upset about him missing the tournament.

It will be interesting to see how the Dominican Republic fares without the Blue Jays star. They are still stacked with stars such as Manny Machado, Rafael Devers, and Juan Soto suiting up for them. The Blue Jays will need his talent during the upcoming season.
