Aaron Judge’s Emotional Parents Once Took Pride in an Achievement: “Almost Better Than Being Rookie of the Year”

Aaron Judge has lately been a star of the New York Yankees and the MLB world. But where his parents are concerned, his best qualities lie in what he’s like off the field. All Rise has several titles to his name, including the American League Most Valuable Player Award and AL Rookie of the Year.

But in addition to his baseball skills, his parents have always been outspoken about praising him as a person first. “We’re very proud of him as a baseball player and what accomplishments he’s done on the field. But – this is gonna get us – what really matters is the wonderful human being that he’s grown into,” said his mom, Patty Judge.

Judge is known for being notoriously private about his personal life. But the one thing he’s never shied away from is giving respect to where it’s due. Whenever he’s asked about his parents, the Yankee has always thanked them for their support. Judge once told MLB.com, “I know I wouldn’t be a New York Yankee if it wasn’t for my mom.”

For those unversed, Patty and Wayne Judge adopted baby Aaron two days after he was born. He has always spoken about how thankful he is to them and how he has no interest in his biological parents because Patty and Wayne are the only parents he knows. “I feel they kind of picked me,’Judge told The New York Post once. “I feel that God was the one that matched us together.”

Dating back to 2017, when Judge won the AL Rookie of the Year, his mom heaped huge praise on the Yankees slugger, describing how well a human being he has become. “If your child grows to be a person that you think has some power or influence to make some positive impressions and positive changes in the community and the world around them, that’s pretty darn good. That’s almost better than being Rookie of the Year,” Patty said.

The number 99 is humility personified

Fans and fellow players alike have always praised the outfielder for his modesty. During games, Judge can be seen seeking out kids to play with between innings.
