After many years of postseason letdown, the Yankees fully believed they had finally constructed the kind of roster this season that would bring them their first World Series since 2009. Instead, they suffered another crushing postseason loss, dismantled brutally by the Blue Jays in four games. And only four days after elimination, star slugger Aaron Judge and his former teammate Anthony Rizzo were spotted at Madison Square Garden.

Both were in attendance to see the Metropolitan Division matchup between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals. During the first period, the former teammates appeared on the big screen and received a warm ovation from fans in attendance.
Aaron Judge had just wrapped up his fifth consecutive All-Star season. He concluded the season with an impressive .331 batting average with 53 home runs. Further in the postseason, he went 13-for-25 (.500) with seven RBI.

As soon as Judge and Rizzo’s real-time picture from the NHL game made it to X, netizens, especially MLB fans, couldn’t help trolling Judge for missing the October baseball and attending other New York games already.

After eliminating their arch-rivals in a three-game set of the AL Wild Card series, Aaron Judge and Co. won only one game against the Blue Jays in the ALDS. Yet, Judge was red hot in both playoff series. He hit a combined .500 (13 for 26) with two doubles, seven RBIs, one homer, four walks, and five strikeouts.
However, that wasn’t enough, as the rest of the roster struggled monstrously, especially the pitching staff. The Blue Jays rose to that opportunity and recorded 50 hits and scored 34 runs across four games. And when the Rangers lost 0-1 to the Capitals on Sunday, fans took the opportunity to troll Judge and the Yankees alike.
Fans take aim at Aaron Judge in first outing since Yankees’ disappointing season
The 2025 Yankees exited October baseball a lot earlier than anticipated. They fell to a team they couldn’t figure out. As the Blue Jays played the Mariners on the same night, fans noted that Judge would have been in the ALCS if not for the shortcomings of his roster. “Aaron Judge should be in the ALCS tonight, but 90% of the roster failed him.” Judge is now 33 and hasn’t won a World Series ring yet. Although the Yankees completed their 2025 season matching last year’s 94-win total in pursuit of a second straight AL East title, they still fell short.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Aaron Judge's prime being wasted by the Yankees' inability to support him in October?

Naturally, Aaron Judge wasn’t immune to the long-standing Cancun jokes. “Not in Cancun yet, I see. Flight tomorrow?” It’s a running joke among US sports fans, especially NBA, for the teams that get eliminated either before or even during the postseason should prepare to go to Cancun.

Another fan noted, “See, a real MVP would be getting ready for the ALCS, not being in the garden.” Here, the fan is referring to Mariners’ Big Dumper Cal Raleigh, who made it to the ALCS and even dominated the Blue Jays on Sunday, handing them a 1-3 loss.
The jabs didn’t stop. “October hockey instead of October baseball.” The Yankees barely lasted a week in October baseball. It’s been more than 15 years since the Yankees last secured a World Series. It’s an unimaginable stretch for earlier generations of pinstriped legends, such as the Derek Jeter era.

Then there were ones who pinned the blame on his teammates. “Should be in Toronto, but the squad could show up for the Captain.” If it weren’t for the Yankees’ costly lapses, it would’ve been the Yankees at Rogers Centre, not the Seattle Mariners. Instead, the Yankees watched the Blue Jays celebrate at their home field. The Yankees led the majors in scoring during the regular season.
The same club produced only six hits off the Blue Jays reliever in their elimination game. It would certainly be a shame if the Yankees don’t win a single World Series in Aaron Judge’s era. As his prime is getting wasted, fans can’t help but remind the Yankees of what they’ve lost.
