And now, when the 2022 MLB season is over, Judge is a free agent in the MLB market. While the potential 2022 AL MVP is yet to sign any contract with any MLB franchise, he has come up with a major statement.

The Judge regretted rejecting the Yankees’ offer

In a recent interview with MLB Network, after winning his first American League Hank Aaron Award, Aaron Judge spoke about the start of 2022. The four-time All-Star elaborates on the apprehension of the large bet on himself, which affected his performance on the field and made him feel like he should’ve simply accepted the Yankee offer.

Judge said, “It was tough in the beginning. Definitely in April. It took me two weeks to get my first home run. There is little doubt that creeps into your mind about it.”

He continued to talk about the first two weeks of 2022 when he beat himself up about not accepting the initial offer. The outfielder said, “After a couple of weeks, talking to my teammates and my family, just cleared all that and go out there and be yourself. Just have the faith to go out there and play your game.”

Finally, filled with praises for his teammates during his tough time, he said, “I always go back to my teammates. Those are the guys that really pushed me day in and day out. So, I definitely would not have been in this position, or have the season I did if it wasn’t for those guys.”

What lies ahead for Aaron Judge?

When all was said and done, Aaron Judge had the best season of his life. He broke Roger Maris’ 61-year-long record by smashing 62 home runs in a single season. He almost chased down the Triple Crown and is leading the race to be triumph the American League MVP award while competing with two-way wonder Shohei Ohtani.

However, something that didn’t work out in Aaron Judge’s favor is the postseason he witnessed and an eventual Yankee exit. Some would say that Judge choked under pressure. And if 2022 is any paradigm, Judge is yet to set a reputation for being the big game player.

As a result, his forgettable postseason could tamper with his potential $300million deal. That being said, his suitors aren’t going anywhere.
