Aaron Judge Proves He’s a Deserving Captain With a Kind Gesture Towards New York Yankees’ Latest Prospects

Aaron Judge has shown immense growth as a person and an athlete since joining the New York Yankees. Over the years, Judge has taken up more responsibility at the clubhouse and acted as a leader for the team. This has been even more apparent in recent years as Judge’s impact has grown. But the Yankees decided to make it official and recently gave Judge the captaincy of the team.
This is a move that makes complete sense and has seemed inevitable for some time now. But Judge seems to be taking it very seriously. He recently performed his first duties as captain.

Although the off-season is going on and most players are enjoying themselves, Aaron Judge got started on his captaincy duties. Judge was spotted spending time with some Yankee prospects. He was pictured alongside outfielder Felix Neguéis and pitcher Osiel Rodriguez on separate occasions. John Brophy of Pinstriped Prospects shared the news and pictures via Twitter.

In the Tweet, Brophy said, “The Captain doing captainly things in Tampa”. He also said, “Aaron Judge is seen with OF Felix Neguéis and RHP Osiel Rodriguez”. This shows just how committed Judge is to being the captain and helping young prospects develop.

But this also validates the Yankee’s decision to give Judge the captaincy. Although it has seemed like an obvious decision for the last few years. The reigning AL MVP has shown nothing but loyalty to the franchise and has also displayed the capability to lead a team. Furthermore, he is one of the best players in the League today.
Judge played his way into the record books in 2022
During the 2022 season, Aaron Judge achieved a historic and record-breaking feat. While having his best season ever, Judge broke the single-season home run record for the AL. He did so by hitting 62 homers, one more than the previous record of 61 set by Roger Maris in 1961.
