From designing dreams with Ralph Lauren or reaching his 18th home run in Pinstripes, Aaron Judge does everything in style. And while he has been the cornerstone for the Yankees, taking the club to new heights, this time, the slugger’s hilarious reaction stole the entire spotlight. And obviously, fans couldn’t resist, either!

While the New York Yankees won 3-2 against the Los Angeles Angels, a moment that captured everyone’s attention was when Ron Washington didn’t allow Judge to get an early hit on Wednesday. But the 6-foot-7 outfielder and the team’s captain didn’t look bothered.

Talkin’ Yanks posted a clip on their X handle: Aaron Judge tips his cap to a laughing Ron Washington after he was intentionally walked twice in the first two innings.” And fans were smiling.

Ron Washington, in a sudden move, made Judge intentionally walk in the first two innings, and guess what!! Judge responded by tipping his cap towards him, making Washington burst out in laughter. So, were we, no?

Simply put, the Angels didn’t want to face Aaron Judge. It was all evident from the first inning, when Yusei Kikuchi was on the mound to pitch against Judge. But in a sudden turn of events, Ron Washington issued the intentional walk, pushing the Yankees’ captain to first base. What do we call such a move – cowardly or tactical?

Well, going by the chorus of boos that soon echoed through the stadium, it was clear that Ron Washington didn’t want the Yankee captain to take the lead. And how could he! Given he has one of the best averages this season: .395 average with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs. But the drama didn’t end here!

Washington was well aware of Judge scoring twice in Monday’s 5-1 victory against the Angels and a hit in Tuesday’s 3-2 win. When Judge reached the plate in the second inning, there was yet another deliberate walk against him.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Aaron Judge's hat tip the ultimate show of respect or a subtle dig at the Angels?

Have an interesting take?

All of these kinda exposed the defensive mindset of the Angels. It reminded us of the lack of confidence that the Angels have when facing the top hitters. But surprisingly, it worked when Judge returned in the fifth inning; he got flied out to right field. Although it limited the damage only a little bit—what could have been more runs if Judge was there—it was never a permanent solution.

The win against the Angels was eventually secured when Anthony Volpe hit a sacrifice fly to centre field with runners across the bases.

But what caught the attention of fans was Aaron Judge’s reaction to the Angels’ bold move, and soon it became the talk of the town. Enough to give us a good laugh, at least. What do you think?

Aaron Judge’s reaction to the Angels has had fans in a frenzy

For the New York Yankees, it’s been a dominating start to the season. They are standing atop the AL East with a 35-20 record. But for now, the entire spotlight has shifted to Aaron Judge’s reaction. Just as the clip of Judge tipping his hat went viral, Talkin’ Yanks was filled with heartfelt reactions.

One of the fans simply praised Aaron Judge’s stance and the game as a whole. And why not! Despite the Angels’ bold move to prevent Judge from getting an early hit, Judge looked calm and composed. But it happened for the first time since 2012 when Robinson Cano was intentionally walked by the Nationals. Now, the reaction perfectly aligned with the slugger’s style and soon caught the attention of fans, of course, on a positive note.

While Aaron Judge’s reaction was praiseworthy, the same cannot be said for the Angels. “Washington needs to be fired ASAP. Horrible manager.” The fan might not be wrong… Ron Washington’s team is currently standing in fourth position in the AL West, with a 25-30 record. The Angels, averaging 7.6 runs only in the last eight games, have managed to score only five runs in the last five games. And if we predict the future, the Angels do not seem to go anywhere this season either.

Then followed some more criticism: 🤣🤣 I don’t blame Ron Washington because they only gave up 1 run tonite & couldn’t score themselves.” The fan got a point. The Yankees’ pitchers are breathing fire this season. With a great 2.54 ERA in the last 39 games, they have literally prevented their opponents from scoring more than a run, and the same happened with the Angels, too. But what’s more frustrating for the fans was the cowardly approach adopted by Washington. The Angels couldn’t score themselves, and they issued the intentional walk, not once but twice, to send Judge to base.

Another funny comment said, “The Yankees swept the Angels, and the Angels swept the Dodgers, so the Yankees are gonna sweep the Dodgers, right?” Well, it might be unbelievable for some, but yes, it’s true. The Angels beat the Dodgers 6-4 on Sunday, which has been a big turning point. If you remember, the Angels managed to beat the Dodgers three times in a row, and it happened for the first time since 2010. And so, going by a little maths there, fans think that the Yankees can sweep the Dodgers. Will that be possible?

But the criticism came pouring in. Washington is a coward. Kikuchi would have struck him out twice.” Yusei Kikuchi went 1-for-5 on Wednesday and struggled a lot during his outing. He allowed one run and four hits while striking out four in his five innings. But in the first, when he was about to pitch against Aaron Judge, the manager called for the intentional walk, just for the sake of not allowing him to hit the pitcher. However, Kikuchi finished on a high note by retiring the final eight batters. But unfortunately, he didn’t get enough support from his team’s batters. No wonder fans are again blaming Washington for the loss.
