After MLB star Shohei Ohtani and NFL legend Aaron Rodgers, the NY Yankees have become the first MLB team to pay their employees in bitcoin.
Earlier this year, the LA Angels two-way phenom Shohei Ohtani became the face of a crypto brand, FTX. And now, the Yankees have also set a new trend with their partnership with an institutional Bitcoin services provider NYDIG.

Meanwhile, talking about the Yankees’ performances this season, the Pinstripes have emerged as the best MLB team in 2022. However, The Bronx Bombers faced a series loss against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday. Considering their domination in the first half of the 2022 season, the Yankees would want to wind up the first half on a high note.
NY Yankees employees can get partially paid in bitcoin
Per Bitcoin Magazine, this is a multi-year partnership between the NY Yankees and NYDIG. Although the Yankees are the only MLB team to adopt bitcoin in their salary structure, the other franchises might also follow the same path in the coming time.

Per Coin Telegraph, the crypto industry is about to explode in the sports world in the near future. The report also suggests that the crypto deals will cross the $5 billion revenue in the sports world alone.
According to Bitcoin Magazine, the Yankees VP of human resources said they look forward to leveraging the bitcoin service provider company to offer this opportunity to their employees.

Yankees lose their 3rd series in 2022
The recent series loss against the Cincinnati Reds was only the third series loss for the NY Yankees this season. It sums up their domination in the American League. Despite a home run from Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres, the Pinstripes failed to win the game and lost the three-game series.
