Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez Talks Batting Mechanics

In the aftermath of his gaffe on the show, A-Rod used his platform on Instagram to speak on his take on batting mechanics. Posting to Instagram with the caption ‘My 2 cents on how to improve batting technique,’ A-Rod delved into the depths of explaining the mechanics of hitting.

Analyzing the hitting techniques of players today, he highlighted how modern hitters concentrate on the angle of their swing. He stated how they are attempting to get below the baseball in their swing. As a result, getting more strikes, leading to higher strikeout numbers.

Said Rodriguez, “That’s why these guys strike out 200 times a year“. Concluding his analysis, Rodriguez expressed shock at the current trend of teams concentrating on power hitting instead of player averages concluding, “and that’s why teams don’t win nowadays.

Instead, A-Rod suggested that the players must attempt to strike at the top of the ball. A-Rod seemed to believe that his approach would make all players better hitters.

Listing the benefits of his approach, A-Rod mentioned, “you get a shorter, more compact swing, you increase contact… and a higher batting average..more home runs and more stakes..meaning more RBIs“.

Baseball fans Warm Up to A-Rod after controversy

Initially, in the program, while explaining batting mechanics, A-Rod mentioned that the swing must be as if you are ‘punching a little person,’ Upset with the comparisons and its implication, fans took to social media to make it clear.

However, after he had taken to Instagram to post the complete take, the fans appeared to vehemently agree with his techniques across the comments on his post.
